This razor is a xxxx Gillette Model 195 FATBOY Razor, this was the first year that Gillette made in sold this model razor, this razor has a date code of D4, it is VERY clean, there is no rust or misuse visible. The adjustment dial turns easily and it opens and closes the blade gap with the click at every number. In my opinion, this razor would be great for anyone, from a novice shaver to an old timer because the blade gap can be opened and closed as needed to adjust the aggressiveness.
The TTO (twist to open) machinery all works very well just as it should, opening and closing the doors easily. It is in Very Good + condition and appears to have been used but not abused. This razor shows a minimal amount of use as can be seen in the pictures. The numbers and ring below the adjuster are solid black.
This razor is fully functional and all the mechanics work as they should, turning easily to open and close the doors and to adjust the shave to your liking. Also included is one "Twenty Grand" double edge collectible blade.
The "Butterfly Door" is the mother of blade replacement options. It is both safe and simple and it adds that little touch of hi-tech that makes this great razor what it is. Simple and safe. Gillette reached the pinnacle of their creative prowess when they designed this razor.
